Making up some releasable bonnet hinges and a support frame to carry the bonnet skin itself. The aim is to allow the bonnet to hinge normally, or to be mounded direct to the flip front and hinge with that.

The first task was to modify some saloon hinges to fit the Clubby.

 

Then to cut a pair of nice curvy rails to follow the line of the bonnet.

Weld em up and check they fit.

 


Then add the magical interface fittings, mostly crafted from some bicycle spindles and a bit of flat steel bar.




The spindle slide into tube on the bonnet rails and the cone nuts keep it all aligned.
