Saturday started with a re-plumb of the fuel system to use the real tank, not a petrol can balanced on the wheel ! Things going well in the sun, with less clutter in the engine bay now the pump is under the rear subframe. Not long after that the sky darkened so some shelter was required. Lynne hid from the rain in the shed and stroked the front wings to keep them calm :-) While the tarpaulin flapped like a mad flappy thing and tried to carry off the Landrover. Very pleasant hiding under that making up brake pipes I can tell you ! Then about 1/2 an hour the rain stopped and it was sunny again (but still seemed like force 10 wind !) Sunday's first jjob was to remove the prototype exhaust, seam weld the spot welded joins, and fix some hanging bars. And cover it with black VHT paint. Then later spent a bit of time measuring up the driveshafts ready for their cut'n'weld. The short Mini shaft is sooo close to being right, shame it's about 10mm too short with smaller splines. |
