Doris sneaking into the Top 40 area, to mix with the really shiny cars. The bloke on the gate said ' park anywhere you like', so we dumped Doris in the centre, opened the bonnet and scarpered.
Much to our surprise, nobody wanted to evict Doris, perhaps she was a bit too subtle ?
So a cunning plan was hatched that would make Doris even less discrete, blatantly promote the Ashford Mini Owners Club, and provide a bit of shade.
The AMOC gazebo nonchalantly walking across the showground into the Top40..
Top marks to the judge for checking Doris over thoroughly, though he did seem to laugh through most of the categories :-)
Having done out bit in the Top40, we ceremonially marched off in the direction of the loudest exhaust competition.
Doris had to sit in the hot sun because the gazebo bearers were turned away trying to follow us into the arena.
Mad Frank's 6.7litre V8Mini got 125.1dB from just one of his exhausts.!!
Doris and her teeny 3.5l only managed 122.4dB at about 7000rpm, though there was a nice pop of flames. The new upswept tail pipes were directing the noise over the meter (prob'ly).
