Thanks to everyone who said hello to Doris in Brighton on Sunday 18th May :-)2 1/2 years work, then people laugh when you open the bonnet, it was superb :-). Days like that make it all worth while. Doris decorated with a subtle banner. Things on the sea front seemed a bit quiet, so it was time for an experiment.... Take a selection of shiny polished Minis add one grubby hand painted yellow clubman, then open the bonnet and see what people are attracted to. The owners who smelt of AutoGlym seemed a bit unhappy mind you ;-) Maybe the gloating was a little premature, on the way home we had to stop for some minor repairs... The gearstick had only been tack welded together while I was trying to work out the best alignment, sadly it wasn't as robust as I had hoped so an emergency replacement was fitted. The cooling system seemed to have lost a bit, so it was topped up with coke and some local puddles :-) |
