Trial build of the new dash instruments. After the removal of the old dashboard, quite a lot of pretty string started to spill out :-( So a bit of steel was cut, joined, then welded in place to make a nice top for the new dash. While I was welding in there I decided to tie the front of the roll cage into the shell with some 25mm box section. Then I got keen and welded the cage to the screen pillars, the top of the B posts, and the rear side panels, just below the windows. As a result of the general welding damage, I decided to create a nice blue flappy 'spray booth' so that I could blast the whole interior of the car with a few coats of primer and matt black. Rear bulkhead and cage before colouring in... Erm, and the 'after' picture :-) Hopefully it should all be a bit stiffer, as well as being nice and black !
