A bit of recycling to make use of some of the scrap fruit just lying around... Well, there's quite a few older more 'arthritic' people in the village who appreciate having their lawns cleared of windfall apples. Then there's our apple tree, and our plum tree, and all the blackberries and plums along the local footpaths...
Beer keg, box section steel and a bottle jack make a splendid fruit press. Just mount it all on an engine stand making it portable and easy to fit 25 litre brewing bins underneath ! A selection of bottle jacks and 18mm ply 'circles' to press the fruit between. (Well, you loosely chop the fruit then bag it in old (washed) T shirts for squeezing) The first 75 litres bottled and maturing in the garage. Another 125 litres fermenting under the stairs.
If you're going to fail - do it big time !!!
