A bit of recycling to make a crimbo pressie from a scrap gas cylinder..

After leaving the cylinder filled with water for a few weeks, the top was cut off with the air saw, then a quick test butn with some newspaper suggested it was safe to work on with hot things...

So, out with the plasma cutter to take it down by 12 inches, and to carve some doors.

Glue hinges and catches on with the MIG, then make a flue.

Easy...

Getting the paint off - less easy, so had to do a 'test burn'.

Stuffing it full of wood seemed to get rid of most of the colour, but the paint didn't smell good !

Then you just wrap it up and you can hide it under the tree !!!

Ok, ok, so you get the Mrs to actually wrap it, but hang on I did all the hard work ;)

Update...

Then you realise that if only you had kept the top section in you could have a couple of grills in there...

Patio heater / BBQ / pizza oven ?

Then you add the option for chicken or a nice lump o lamb...
